Diabetes can be defined as a condition when there is high amount of glucose in the blood. Diabetes is chronic in nature meaning never ending. Diabetes is majorly classified in two types type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is now very common illness.


Understanding Type 1 Diabetes:

Type 1 diabetes is due to halt in production of insulin by the pancreas. This halt is due to autoimmune system of the human body. The autoimmune system consisting antibodies destroys the beta cells of the pancreas which are responsible for secretion of insulin. This type of diabetes is also known as Juvenile diabetes.


Understanding Type 2 Diabetes:

Type 2 diabetes is a condition when the insulin produced by the body is not enough or the cells do not respond to the insulin produced by the pancreas. Type 2 diabetes is more common among adults i.e. of age above 40 years. It is commonly known as Adult onset diabetes.


The main cause for type 1 or type 2 diabetes is changes in life style. Changes in lifestyle in the sense sedentary or stagnated lifestyle cause diabetes. Obesity is also one of the main symptoms for diabetes. Obesity is due to stagnated lifestyle. The other main causes of diabetes is lack of balanced diet and genetic reasons.


The other type of diabetes is gestational diabetes. Which is to women and occurs to them during the period of pregnancy. It may last only for a short interval up to the delivery, if proper care is taken. Other wise it develops to type 2 diabetes. Women with gestational diabetes are at a risk of having large babies.


Diabetes is not partial with gender. It affects gender equally. Eating of sweet in huge quantities doesn't lead to diabetes.

Diabetic Symptoms:

Some of major diabetic symptoms shown by the diabetic persons are Increased thirst, frequent urination, extreme hunger, unexplained weight loss or gain, blurry vision.


Diagnosis of diabetes is by two test namely blood and urine tests. Urine test shows samples of glucose in urine and blood test is of three types and in all the types the glucose levels in the blood is normally above normal range.


Type 1 diabetes persons are given insulin injection. These doses are generally 4 to 5 times a day as prescribed by the doctor. Type 2 diabetes can be avoided and can be treated if the diabetic person involve in physical activities.
